Cayman Carnival’s Junior Batabano is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year, and it will be the biggest one ever!
Junior Batabano Street Parade and Family Fun Day: The annual Cayman Carnival Batabano Junior Street Parade and Family Fun Day take place on April 29, 2017 at the old “Glass House” government building starting at 1:00pm. Then at 3pm watch the jungle come alive as more than 300 children wind their way from Elgin Avenue to the heart of George Town, showing off beautiful costumes. “It’s a Jungle out there!” Don’t miss it! Bring the family to enjoy lots of games, activities and food at the Family Fun Day. Decorate a mask, win a prize at “Ball Toss”, get your face and hands painted or take a horse ride! Be amazed by the acrobats and colourful, talented stilt walkers. Lots to do and see!
Teen Glow Party: The Teen Glow party for teens between the ages of 13 – 17 takes place on the evening of Junior Batabano on April 29, 2017 from 7pm to 10:30pm at the South Sound Community center. Wear white! Free glow items on entrance. There will be a dance off competition with the winner receiving a phone courtesy of FLOW.
Steel band Concert: Sponsored by Cayman National Bank, the Steelband concert takes place on The Crescent at Camana Bay on Friday April 28, 2017 starting at 5:30 pm. Come and listen to the sweet sounds of steelpans featuring bands from some of Cayman’s primary schools as well as Michael LeMay’s own band “Pan-N-Riddim”.
